Marching into 2018 - Democrats Abroad Toulouse Women's March Agenda 2018

Dear Lagniappe Family and Friends,

We had three wonderful guest to join us for the one year anniversary of The Women's March on Washington. Suzette Tanis-Plant, Tina Dekens, and Maria Clemow.

We discussed the state of the Union one year after the presidential elections, the #Me Too movement, started by Tarana Burke in 2006, and what we can do to keep the movement going.

On January 21, 2018, women and men around the world will mark the first anniversary of the Women’s March and launch our collective 2018 Women’s March agenda: #PowerToThe Polls.

Last year in Toulouse we marched. This year Democrats Abroad Toulouse is organizing a #MeToo Gathering on Sunday, January 21. Men as well as women are welcome. In a safe, confidential space, we will be invited to share our experiences, bear witness to others' experiences and try to formulate ideas for positive change--so that our sons and daughters grow up in a world where everyone is respected. From the Women's March to the Women's Convention, we've seen how powerful we are when we gather together, share our experiences and support each other.

Please RSVP to daf-toulouse@democratsabroad.org as space is limited. For Americans, a small donation (5-10€) is requested to defray costs of the space and refreshments--but lack of funds should not deter anyone from taking part. We welcome people of all nationalities. As we lack translators, however, the discussions will be primarily in English.

Voter registration help will be available to U.S. citizens wishing to register for their ballots for the vital midterm elections (and primaries start soon in several key states). We will do a group photo (with those who wish) that will be contributed to the worldwide Global Women’s March team. Bring your own signs and banners.

Big Thanks to our guests!!!
