Welcome to our Black History Month Celebration. Even as the celebrations leading up to Mardi Gras are well on their way in New Orleans, we are going to continue to celebrate a few heroes of the African diaspora in America. One of such heroes is our very own James Baldwin. Louisiana can claim influences over his upbringing through his father, David Baldwin.

Why Prophet? He exposed America's true colors through his literature and talks -- Encouraging America to take a good long look at itself and search for viable ways to correct centuries long behavior that kept African-Americans on the fringes of society. Even today, his words ring just as true as ever...
