Considering the climate stateside, both meteorologically and socially as well as in other places in the world, the need for psychological services in certain communities has come to a head. However, current clinical practices usually do not coincide with the specific needs of the patients. In most cases the person in need of psychological assistance or therapy has a hard time finding what is called a culturally competent psychologist.

Considering the climate stateside, both meteorologically and socially as well as in other places in the world, the need for psychological services in certain communities has come to a head. However, current clinical practices usually do not coincide with the specific needs of the patients. In most cases the person in need of psychological assistance or therapy has a hard time finding what is called a culturally competent psychologist.
This is all now in the process of changing. In France there is this necessity to create, much like in America a directory of culturally competent psychologist. These mental health care providers would be able to exchange with their patients not only from a level of expertise, but also of personal experience.
